1. Who we are

TrenchSchool ("we", "us", "our") operates trenchschool.com, a directory and profile platform for trading platforms and traders. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the site, sign up as a platform or trader, or make a payment, and how that data is handled.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account and signup information — business/trader name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), wallet addresses, social links, page description, and logo you provide when applying to be listed.
• Payment data — if you pay by card, your card details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. We do store the resulting Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, subscription status, and the amount due for your plan. If you pay by bank transfer or crypto, we store the payment method and currency you selected, and reference details you submit for verification.
• Usage and analytics data — page views, video views, URL link clicks, and wallet-copy clicks on profiles, recorded against an anonymous session identifier stored in your browser's local storage. This is first-party data used only to power the analytics dashboard shown to platforms and traders about their own listing — it is not shared with advertisers or third-party trackers.
• Technical data — IP address (used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention) and user-agent string, collected automatically with each request.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect the site against cross-site request forgery. These are required for the site to function and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, so they don't require separate consent under UK PECR. We do not currently use any advertising, marketing, or third-party analytics cookies.

4. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and to review and approve listing applications.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
• To calculate and track referral commissions between traders.
• To show platforms and traders analytics about their own profile's performance.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and rate-limit violations.
• To communicate with you about your application, account, or payments.

5. Who we share data with

• Stripe, Inc. — processes all card payments and subscription billing on our behalf. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing the payment data it holds directly.
• Cloudflare — provides hosting, storage (for uploaded logos), and infrastructure security for the site.
• We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Analytics events are retained in aggregate for reporting purposes.

7. Your rights (UK GDPR)

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, payment card data never touches our servers, and access to admin functions is restricted to authenticated administrators. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
